Review: Tina Wainscott’s Wild on You is a five star, must-read, suspenseful romance with an alpha hero and kick-ass heroine you’ll fall in love with!

imageI’m in a really happy place when I find a new author and series that just is so darn good that I can’t put the book down. It doesn’t matter what genre it is – contemporary, paranormal, romantic suspense, military, historical – if that author sweeps my reader mind away to his or her characters and settings in a way that everything else falls away. It’s a keeper and I’ll recommend it highly.

That said if you like and/or love romantic suspense and military romances, get out and purchase Tina Wainscott’s new books, Wild Hearts (prequel) and Wild on You (book one), in her Justiss Alliance series. They are fabulous, can’t-put-it-down, page-turning reads.

I was given Wild on You by Tina’s publisher to read for review, but before I started it, wanted to see what other titles she had out there. I quickly discovered the prequel, Wild Hearts, hit the buy button on Amazon and $0.99 later, started to read.

Oh my goodness, I am so glad I picked up that prequel, because not only does it set up the back

imagestory of the failed mission of the Navy SEAL team in Mexico, but it has character sketches of all the team members to die for. Seriously, I wanted to read more about each of them immediately, as they’re so well described and interesting. None of these heroes are super heroes in an unbelievable way, but have been carefully given real-life family and friend issues to deal with in addition to the things they carry forward from their military service. Factor in their military service and you’ll know these are the alpha heroes you’ve been looking for in a romance series. Now, if I could just get that image of Sax and the hammock out of my frost locked brain, I’d be happy, because I don’t think his story will be told for a bit!

The first book in the series, Wild on You, is just a fabulous thriller and romance wrapped into one. I absolutely adore Tina’s heroine, Addie, an animal-rights activist who eschews makeup and fends off her father’s matchmaking by telling him she’s partners – in all ways – with her animal rescue colleague, Shirley. However, Risk (Rick Yarbrough) the ex-Navy SEAL now employed by the Justiss Alliance soon shows that declaration to be quite untrue.

The immediate heat that’s generated between Risk and Addie is evident in the virtually smoking pages of my Kindle from the moment they meet. Watching the way Tina develops this story of two people who have been burned emotionally in so many ways having to learn to trust – priceless and beautiful. In addition, they’re both adrenaline junkies, so you know that their pairing up is going to generate some fireworks.

Wainscott could not have created a more perfect heroine than Addie, in my opinion. Not only is she independent and kick-ass, but she’s devoted her life, her reputation, and all her passion to rescuing and rehabilitating four-footed friends (no snakes, thankfully). [I wish she were around to help rescue those dogs that are being rounded up pre-Olympics in Sochi]. As Addie’s life is evidently threatened, Risk assumes responsibility for guarding her. After she slips away with some goat help and comes across serious bad-asses out for blood, a little of her innocence seems stripped away, but Risk is there for her. Yes, a serious alpha male who has a sensitive side. Win all around for readers with this book!

The threats keep coming and the who is behind them is carefully concealed, so this wasn’t one of those books where I already knew the whodunit by the tenth or twentieth page. Wild on You kept me on the edge of my seat as I paged through their adventures, love scenes, and more. (I’ll never look at a dinner party function the same way again. Ever!)

My only disappointment is that book two, Wild Ways (Julian’s story), won’t be out till May 13, 2014. I can tell that this series is going to be really addictive, so prepare yourself beforehand. I’m guessing that I’ll be rereading the prequel and book one again soon, for my Justiss Alliance hit (I haven’t even mentioned the HOT and mysterious founder of this agency. Another story to be told!)

As I’m still riding the crest of adrenaline-spiked euphoria, it’s an easy decision to award Wild on You five stars. Tina Wainscott has created a must-read, fast-paced, can’t-put-it-down suspenseful series that you’ll fall in love with too!

The Justiss Alliance is an elite team of heroes out to do right. In Wild on You, one untamable SEAL meets a woman who handles the wildest sort of animals—until she herself becomes the hunted.

When Rick Yarbrough, aka Risk, a discharged SEAL with a taste for danger, joins the Justiss Alliance, his first assignment seems like a baby-sitting gig: He must guard an out-of-control general’s daughter. Then he meets his charge.

Addie Wunder is no baby. She’s a dedicated animal-rights activist who isn’t above breaking the law if innocent creatures are threatened. But her work has made her a lot of powerful enemies. If she doesn’t stop, she may just turn herself into an endangered species.

Risk’s mission is to keep Addie out of trouble. But as they grow closer, Addie becomes so much more than a job. And the more he has to lose, the more Risk is willing to put his own life on the line—for her cause, her safety, and her sweet-hot embrace.
